(Journey of Inspiration by Gabisile Nkosi, 2004)

Caversham Centre for Artists and Writers (CCAW), based in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, evolved from the growing need for Caversham Press to expand its outreach in the ethnically diverse South Africa and to include artists from other countries. The Centre continues a 25 year tradition of excellence, innovation and commitment to those from disadvantaged backgrounds, contributing towards transformation and empowerment through creativity and the Arts. This has led to the development of the broader-based innovative MasabelaneniLet us Share project which extends beyond the Caversham Centre.

The establishment of Caversham CreACTive Centres endeavour to build and develop the community and leadership capacity of a number of under-served rural and peri-urban communities in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. Caversham programmes are largely focused on identifying and growing individual potential to enable individuals to make meaningful contributions to their communities – hence the motto, “Inspiring individuals in order for them to inspire others.”
